TOPIC: Standards with phenomena listed as "Under Consideration".

ISSUE: 2

REVISION DATE: 27.1.98

PREVIOUS REVISION DATE: 17.1.98

BACKGROUND: Many EMC standards include phenomena listed as "Under Consideration".

PROBLEM: Can a TCF based upon testing to standards which include phenomena listed as "Under Consideration" be considered as compliant, without reference to these phenomena?

GUIDELINES: The Competent Body should consider whether further evidence for compliance is needed of those phenomena listed as "Under Consideration".

SUPPORTING INFORMATION: The Competent Body assesses compliance against the Essential Protection Requirements, and as such must take into account all phenomena relevant to the intended use and environment of the product.

A full list of the applicable phenomena is available in IEC 1000-2-5:1995.
