TOPIC: Assessment of TCFs

ISSUE: 2

REVISION DATE: 27.1.98

PREVIOUS REVISION DATE: 5.10.94

BACKGROUND: In assessing a TCF based on the DTI's Guidance Note on the production of TCF's, it is a requirement under section 2(ii)c that procedures used to control variants and/or other engineering changes be examined.

PROBLEM: Is it the task of the CB to carry out a full assessment of the Manufacturers quality system, or should the procedures presented in the TCF be accepted at face value.

GUIDELINES: After consultation with the DTI, the decision was made that the procedures presented in the TCF should be accepted at face value.

SUPPORTING INFORMATION: CB's are not accredited for the approval of quality systems (ISO 9011).
